eyeDOCS traces its roots from the practice of Dr. Earl Whan in the late nineteen-fifties. In 1967, Drs. Roland des Groseilliers and Margaret Hansen-des Groseilliers purchased the Billings Bridge Plaza location. To accommodate the growing practice, the Billings Bridge clinic saw two expansions in 1972 and 1978. In 1990, we built a new office that is still the home of the eyeDOCS Ottawa optometric clinic at 1285 Kilborn Avenue. In 1997 the eyeDOCS Westboro optometric clinic was established on Richmond Road in Westboro. To keep up with ever-increasing patient volumes the Kilborn clinic was renovated in 2008 to provide an inviting open-concept space, and the Westboro Clinic moved and doubled its size in 2010. To Ottawa’s growing communities, the eyeDOCS Kanata optometric clinic (located on March Rd.) and the eyeDOCS Riverside South optometric clinic (located on Limebank Rd.) were added in 2012. The eyeDOCS Preston was added in 2013.
In October 2011, after more than 40 years of practice, Drs. des Groseilliers and Hansen-des Groseilliers retired. Today, the practice counts four partners. Dr. Eric DesGroseilliers joined the practice in 1996, Dr. Serge Fauchon in 1997, Dr. Shawn Charland in 2006 and Dr. Nathan Stolch in 2008. A number of associates have also joined the practice. They are Drs. Annie DesGroseilliers, Carolyn Fyffe, Kristel Jefferies, Melissa Ings, Elaina Kuang, Mana Sharma, Nicole Prieur, David Featherstone, and Erin Condran.
