JOB DESCRIPTION

The pre-test technician is responsible for providing quality pre-testing, imaging and visual field testing to our patients in order to help our optometrist to provide better and more specialized care to our patients. The pre-test technician will ensure the timely flow of patients from the waiting room to the exams rooms and introduces them to the eyewear boutique.

They are also responsible for administering eye drops and performing additional testing as prescribed by the optometrist.

DUTIES

  • Perform prescribed pre-tests and imaging to patient
  • Administers drops in patients eyes as prescribed
  • Perform visual field testing
  • Perform additional testing prescribed by ODs (i.e.: O.C.T.)
  • Data entry of testing and imaging results as necessary

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE

When hiring pre-test technician, eyeDOCS looks for candidates with strong communication skills, computer literate, data entry skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate will have a bias towards action, and will enjoy working with the public.

eyeDOCS prefers that potential candidates for this position have some relevant experience in the optical industry. Optometric Assistant certification is preferred and bilingualism is an asset.
