Portrait of beautiful female pilot with plane behind. Sepia photo.

“I always liked the look of the aviator sunglasses, ever since I was in high school.  I would always tell myself they looked really good and it wasn’t until I did a little research and found out all the history that I became even more obsessed with the aviator sunglasses.”

Aviator sunglasses were created in 1937 for U.S. fighter pilots to protect their eyes while flying. In 1950, they were a big part of the cultural style. In 1970, they were often seen worn by public figures like Elvis Presley with colored frames. Now, in 2017, you can get this style of frame from a number of lines (Tom Ford, Maui Jim, Calvin Klein and Evatik; just to name a few). Made in either plastic or metal, they are available in a number of coloured options and lens shapes. Shape include the Classic Teardrop, the Navigator or the Sporty.

Men and woman alike can be seen wearing these great frames with style and confidence.
